Future expectations/ අනාගත අපෙක්ෂාව...

Kamburupitiya is an electorate where the studies and use of information technology is at its simplest and an undeveloped level. Information technology was just a dream to people in the rural areas. Our future ambition is to turn that dream to a reality starting and keeping up a "rural information technology and communication resource centre" (RITCOE CENTRE) making it based in the areas of Kamburupitiya, Mulatiyana, Kirinda Puhilwella, Thihagoda and through it widening the knowledge of the use of information technology and the computer while making youths connected with universal community so that they will succeed in reaching their job targets winning over future challenges of life.

A new society based on information technology is already created. The whole universe has become a universal village as a result. Owing to the lack of the resources and economic and social problems rural community to learn information technology. Due to the ill effects of the war that lasted for 30 years, economic difficulties faced by the majority of youths in rural areas. The poverty and their inability to afford to spend a great deal of money to learn the information technology or the usage of computers they find it difficult to make their anticipations real. To win over the challenges of the future job world rural youths at the village level are badly in need of engaging in the use of computers practical activities associated with information technology and English language.

Rural community youths and children must be directed to wards the use of those essentials. To achieve success in it a systematic programme should be launched at the village level. So it is our dream to start a rural information technology and communication resource centre (RITCOE CENTRE) in our area and keep it up for the benefit of the younger generation in our area. If such centre's now limited to city and town areas like Colombo can be set up in rural areas as well rural community can also be given an opportunity to make use of it and to provide their own contribution.

Through this, village youths will be fortunate enough to be quite knowledgeable about the information technology the use of computers and the usage of practical English, so that they can utilize that knowledge in their own areas. The main purpose of these centre's is to change knowledge and attitudes of youths so that they can meet their future job targets.

Way of functioning -

This proposed resource centre is expected to provide library facilities free of charge to school students and the other community as a learning centre. (Book library, video film library)

Creating opportunities for the community to learn Computer, English and Tamil languages free of charge.

Initiating and keeping up an Internet Radio - Webcasting.

Making it an information centre where different educational training seminars and workshops will be held.

Empowering the rural community with the use of information technology.

Giving a methodical and systematic knowledge of a community based radio journalism to the school students and the other community carrying on with a radio broadcast with educational and exhibition value at school and village levels four days a month.
